  • Focuses on a traditional education in a structured environment and emphasizes academics, arts, character development, school pride, and civic responsibility

  • Promotes a rigorous course of study while focusing on cultural arts, technology, and global awareness

  • Offers interdisciplinary units of study

  • Prescribes a uniform dress code

Parents interested in making Seventy-First Classical their student’s school of choice must apply to the CCS Assignment Office during the choice application period. Attendance at all grade levels is by application only. 

The Choice Application period closed on January 31, 2023.  Notification emails for Choice Program Seat appointments will be sent to families on March 1, 2023.  Families will need to accept or decline the Choice Program Seat appointment no later than March 17, 2023.  

If your child is a current student of SFCMS and plans to return to our school, there is no need to re-apply. However, if you have other children who would like to attend SFCMS next year, you must fill out a choice application for them and submit it per the instructions listed.

At SFCMS, we offer a vibrant academic program. As a school of choice, we do not have an athletic program. Instead, we focus on a rich roster of academically competitive teams and clubs. It is the goal at SFCMS that every student has at least one extra-curricular activity in which they can participate. Collectively, our academic teams participate in the North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities (NCASA). Transportation services are available only to those SFCMS students who live in the Seventy-First attendance area. All other parents should be prepared to make arrangements for their students’ transportation to and from school each day.
