News and Updates:
The Seventy-First Classical Middle School PTA has begun its membership drive. Membership is just $10, and payment can be made in the form of cash or a check made payable to “SFCMS PTA.” The PTA is also seeking out business sponsors. Please call the school office at 910.864.0092 or email PTA President Connie Tator at if you have any questions. Thank you for your support!

Don’t miss skate night for 71st Classical on Friday, October 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Students, parents, and teachers are encouraged to come out.  Feel free to bring your family and friends! Let’s break a record and make it a big turnout! The cost will be $5 to skate and $2 for skate rental.

The PTA is encouraging students to take part in the Reflections contest. It’s an opportunity for kids to show their talents through video, photography, art, dance, literature and more! The contest ends October 25, 2017, here at our school.  Students are welcome to drop off their projects at the front office with Ms. J. McAllister. The link with contest rules in case you would like to read them is…/…/2012/09/17-18-Student-Packet.pdf.

We are also hosting a Stem Night on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the school. The Morehead Planetarium and Science Center will be hosting! As all of you know, STEM is very big in education right now! We are really excited about being able to sponsor this event, and we are hoping it can become something we do on an annual basis! We will need 10 volunteers to help. If you can help that night please, please call the school office at 910.864.0092 or email PTA President Connie Tator at

A canned food drive will kick off in November to support the Second Harvest Food Bank.

There will be a Basket Auction in December. More information will be announced as we get closer to that event.
