Military and Family Life Counselor

Seventy-First Classical Middle School offers a Military and Family Life Counselor, Eugenia Ohadugha, who regularly visits our campus and our students attending the Military After School Program.

This counselor is:

  • Masters or Doctoral-level licensed, specializing in child and youth behavioral issues
  • Available at no cost to assist children and youth, parents, family members, and staff of child and youth programs
  • Available to provide short-term, non-medical counseling support

This counselor can make a difference by:

  • Engaging in activities with children and youth
  • Providing behavioral interventions in classrooms, at camps, and in Child Development Centers to assist staff in setting and managing boundaries
  • Modeling behavioral techniques and providing feedback to staff
  • Being available to parents and staff to discuss interactions with children and other concerns
  • Facilitating psycho-educational groups

This counselor can address issues such as:

  • School adjustment
  • Deployment and separation
  • Reunion adjustment
  • Sibling and parent-child communication
  • Behavioral concerns
  • Fear, grief, and loss

These services are private and confidential with the exception of child abuse, neglect, domestic abuse, and other duty-to-warn situations.  Military families can contact the SFCMS Military and Family Life Counselor by calling 910-751-9233.
