MathCounts is a national competition for middle school students. Its goal is to enhance achievement in all areas of mathematics, including probability, geometry, algebra, and general problem-solving skills. It consists of both individual and team competitions. Students who enjoy mathematics and solving non-routine problems in mathematics are encouraged to participate.

Because MathCounts is a nationally recognized organization, it is a excellent extracurricular activity for students to include on college applications or other applications requesting extracurricular information.

Students in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades may participate. Meetings are held on Tuesdays, from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m., in Room 19 with Mrs. Moore-Allen. Interested students should see Mrs. Moore-Allen for more information.
