NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Support the SFCMS PTA with their Honey Baked Ham Fundraiser! Order online and pick-up on Monday, November 25, 2019, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., at SFCMS! Details were in the monthly newsletter sent home with students on Friday, November 8.
  • Don’t miss Fun Night at Battle House on November 21, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at 365 Westwood Shopping Center.
  • If you are in need of the PTA’s Uniform Assistance Program, please do not hesitate to complete the form found in the newsletter and return it in an envelope labeled “PTA” to your child’s Homeroom teacher.

Picture of the SFCMS Knight and flag display from the main hall of the schoolThe Cumberland County Schools (CCS) choice application period for the 2020-2021 school year will run from November 12, 2019 to January 10, 2020. All applications must be submitted online via a new link that will be provided to the CCS Student Assignment office by Friday, January 10, 2020. Parents can apply for all of their children and request more than one school on one online form. Visit the Choice Web to access the application online.

Students seeking their school records will be required to provide a completed Records Request Form signed by their parent/guardian. Completed Records Request Forms can be submitted to students’ homeroom teachers, the front office, or the guidance office.

If your child plans to return to SFCMS next year, there is no need to re-apply. However, if you have other children who would like to attend SFCMS next year, you must fill out a choice application for them and submit it per the instructions listed above by the deadline of January 10, 2020.

SFCMS will hold our annual Open House for families who are interested in making SFCMS their students’ Middle School of Choice in the school’s gymnasium on Monday, December 9, 2019, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. This special event is an excellent opportunity to meet our faculty and staff and explore our extracurricular clubs and organizations.

Holiday food baskets will be prepared for families in need. Please support the SFCMS Beta Club’s community service project with a donation of the following items.

  • Sixth Grade – Canned Yams/Canned Corn
  • Seventh Grade – Instant Mashed Potatoes/Corn Muffin Mix
  • Eighth Grade – Macaroni and Cheese/Boxed Stuffing Mix

Students should place all donations in their Homeroom collection boxes.
