Battle of the Books

Red, yellow, and blue anthropomorphized books playing a game of tug of war

KNIGHTS!!  Heed the call for Battle… of the Books!

* An interest meeting will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2019, 2:55 to 4:00 p.m. in the Media Center, and regular, weekly meetings will be held every Tuesday after that.

Who can participate? All dedicated sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students who love to read and enjoy the thrill of competition are encouraged. Our final competing team can be no more than 12 members.

What will we do? Team members read from a list of 27 young adult titles, create questions about them, and are tested in their knowledge of the books’ plots, settings, and characters.

When do we meet? Every Tuesday, 2:55 to 4:00 p.m., beginning September 17, 2019.  Rides must be available promptly at 4:00 p.m. Students whose rides are late more than twice will not be allowed to continue with the team.

Where do we meet? Practice is held in the Media Center.

Why should I participate? Battle of the Books allows students to enjoy great literature, to strengthen reading skills, to spend time sharing books with other readers, and to showcase Seventy-First Classical’s top-notch academic and study skills.
