Picture of the Scholastic Challenge Cup on a pedestal On Tuesday, May 21, 2019, SFCMS celebrated winning the 2019 Challenge Cup for small middle schools, awarded by the North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities (NCASA). The award was presented by Mr. Leon Pfeiffer, Executive Director of the NCASA, and was accepted by Ms. Patricia Ramos, Principal of SFCMS, on behalf of the school at a special ceremony where participating teams and students were recognized for their achievements.

The Challenge Cup is awarded based on students’ participation and excellence in various middle school competitions. SFCMS won this prestigious award for participation in competitive scholastic activities including Art Showcase, Battle of the Books, Chess Club, Envirothon, Forensics, MathCounts, Quiz Bowl, Science Olympiad, and Show Choir.

This is the fourth time in five years that SFCMS has earned this recognition.
