2018-2019 SFCMS Student Transportation Procedures

Yellow school busFor the safety of students, staff, and visitors on campus, please adhere to the following transportation procedures this year.

Morning procedures for Car Riders

  • All car riders will report to the gym. If eating breakfast, go directly to café after exiting parent vehicle.
  • Parents will pull up to the crosswalk. Students may not exit vehicles until they are no more than three cars back from crosswalk.
  • Two lanes of traffic as you enter, merging into one lane beyond the crosswalk.
  • Cross only at the crosswalk. Students should never walk between the cars.
  • Do not attempt to drop your child off in the café parking lot. If you are entering the building for school business, you may park there and report directly to the office for a visitor’s badge.
  • Do not bring students to school prior to 7:00 AM.
  • Students arriving late should be signed in by a parent. Maximum of 10 parent sign-in’s per year.
  • Students should be seated in homeroom at the ringing of the 7:30 AM tardy bell.

Morning procedures for bus riders

  • All bus riders will enter the café from the bus parking lot each morning.
  • If eating breakfast, report immediately to the food line and sit in the designated area to eat breakfast.
  • Students will be escorted to the gym if they are not eating breakfast.

Afternoon procedures for car riders

  • School dismisses at 2:40.
  • Students should gather their belongings and report directly to designated pick up area.
  • 6th graders will be picked up in front of the café. Students will wait at the tree and will be escorted to parent vehicles by a staff member.
  • 7th and 8th graders will be picked up at the pavilion.
  • Families with children in 6th grade and another grade, may pick all children up at the 6th grade pick up area.

Afternoon procedures for bus riders

  • Bus riders will be dismissed two minutes prior to final dismissal bell.
  • Students should gather their belongings and report directly to the bus parking lot.
  • Only bus riders should be in the bus parking lot.
  • Buses will leave the lot by 2:47 each day.

Prime Time: Students will meet on the breezeway at the bench and wait to be escorted by Prime Time employees.

Walkers or Bike Riders: Students who walk or ride bikes home must be off campus no later than 2:50 unless staying after school for a supervised activity. The main office should be notified if a child is a walker or bike rider.

FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL, AT NO TIME SHOULD YOU DROP OFF OR PICK UP YOUR CHILD FROM RAEFORD ROAD, FROM THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEXT DOOR OR FROM ANY OTHER UNAUTHORIZED AREAS.
