Reading Rocks at SFCMS!
Published by Mary Potter on November 5, 2017

CCS Reading Rocks Work Reading a BookThe annual Cumberland County Schools Reading Rocks! Literacy and Fundraising campaign has begun! This year, we are doing things a bit differently. Instead of celebrating with a literacy walk in downtown Fayetteville, we will be celebrating literacy at the school-level in March during Read Across America Week.

In the meantime, we are raising funds at the school-level between now and December 1, 2017, to purchase books, technology, and other student-use items, and we need your support!

Any donations are greatly appreciated, and 100% of your donation stays at SFCMS and will be used to purchase student-use items only. Over the past three years, donations have been used to purchase books and 22 iPads. This year, our goal is to purchase 8 additional student iPads and books for our Media Center.

At SFCMS, we are holding THREE Reading Rocks fundraisers, and students are invited to participate in any or all of them.
1. For the fourth year in a row, SFCMS will be participating in the Annual Money Wars in which the grade levels compete head-to-head in a points-based game of donations November 1 through November 9. The grade-level that wins Money Wars will receive a “Lunch with Friends” Day on Thursday, November 16.  Donations are accepted daily in the Media Center during Homeroom.
2. We are selling $1 raffle tickets for baskets of prizes between October 26 and November 16. The baskets are on display in the Media Center. Tickets can be purchased from Ms. Potter during Homeroom.
3. There will be a Reading Rocks-Around-the-Clock themed-dance on November 16, 2017, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the school’s gym. There will be a DJ, dance contest, concessions for sale, and more! Admission is only $5.

However, to make a real difference, we require individual and corporate sponsors.

If you or your business are interested in becoming a SFCMS Reading Rocks sponsor, please complete the bottom of this form and return it and your donation to Ms. Potter in the Media Center no later than Thursday, November 30, 2017. Donors of $100 or more will be recognized as a bronze-level or silver-level sponsor on our school website and with a donor display in the Media Center that will remain up for the remainder of the school year. Donors of $500 or more will be recognized as a gold-level or platinum-level sponsor and thanked on the school website, the Media Center display, and the marquee at the street for at least one week during the school year.

Thank you in advance for your support of SFCMS!!
